Vapour Depot carry out checks to ensure that age restricted products are not purchased by under 18's.
When an order is placed on the Vapour Depot website, your details will be checked automatically. The following fields are used:
The information is sent over a secure encrypted SSL connection and the information is checked against the Government Electoral Roll database and your credit file. Your data is not accessible by any other party but Vapour Depot. We will not share your data with third parties. The majority of customers are verified through this method and no further checks are required.
Please note, the checks carried out are a soft search. This means you will be able to see the record of the check however credit lenders will not.
Sometimes, the Automated process may not be able to verify your details. Some possible reasons are:
If the Automated Process has not been able to verify your details, we must Manually Verify before we can process an order for age restricted products.
We will ask via email to provide photographic ID, such as a driving license or passport, in order to validate your age.
Once your age has been validated, your order will be processed.
If you are unable to provide photographic ID, we would not be able process the order. In this situation, the order will be cancelled and a full refund provided.
Furthermore, we only need to validate your age once. Once you have been verified we will not need to do this again.
Please note, if we do not receive a response to our manual checks then the order will be cancelled and refunded after 28 days.
As a general rule we will attempt contact via email once every 7 days and will attempt contact via SMS if we still haven't received a response after 21 days (if we hold a valid mobile phone number for you).
Age verification is a legal requirement therefore we must ensure you have passed the age checks prior to shipping the order.
